Forests for
the future

Teak (Tectona grandis) is the principal tree species planted by Form Ghana. The wood is weather, termite- and pesticide-resistant because of the natural oils that are contained within the wood’s fibers. This makes it extremely suitable for outdoor use, such as garden furniture or boat decks, even without treatment with oils or varnish. The attractive appearance makes teak desired for interior use as well as outdoor. Teak flooring, cutting board and veneer remain popular throughout the world.

Form Ghana focuses mainly on the production of high quality round logs. In the coming years, we will develop a portfolio of products to enable a sound diversification of markets. Studies have been planned for the following products: sawn timber for utility building (housing construction), chips for fiberboard and certified charcoal production. Form Ghana intends to develop products for the local as well as for the export market.
