Dr. Joe Cobbinah

is on post retirement contract at the Forestry Research Institute of Ghana(FORIG) as Chief Research Scientist. From 1997 to 2007 he was the Director of FORIG. His current duties include mentorship and guidance of young research scientists. He is the Coordinator of Forestry Research Network of subsaharan Africa (FORNESSA). His extensive research expertise has earned him positions on a number of prestigious national and international bodies including Ghana Forestry Commission Board , International Union of Forest Research Organisations, Forestry Research Network of subsaharan Africa, United Nations Commission on Science and Technology, and  Plant Resources Tropical Africa.
